The honourable court has announced
This case of rape is rarest of rare to count
Milord!
Rape means infringing upon one’s body
This is a clear perpetration of sexual violence
It seems bizarre to even measure
The extent of this savagery
Maybe the system was helpless
Else, the violence be more or less
The foremost is the consent of a woman
Milord!
In our society, octogenarian
Two months old infants
Pregnant women, married or not
And even dead women are raped
The prejudice of caste-religion
Becomes void on bed
Black or white are all justifiable
All women are equally consumable
Milord!
Be it Bhanwari Devi or Phoolan
Kathua or Shakti Mill
Patriarchy doesn’t regret
Society has natural acceptance for
Transgression of a woman’s vagina
Have you forgotten Aruna Shaunbaug
Or the memory of your court gone vague?
Milord!
Money, women & land belong to the powerful
There’re same stories around every corner
Rape is part of our habits
This case of rape is ‘rarest of rare’
I object Milord! Is such a standpoint really fair?
In the parapet of sand
Across shallow water’s land
Or the dead flammable
Mine of coal
Onto the pits of rainwater
Or under the sprouting fever
Of the harshest sun
Wherever you go
Make that your home
Bestow the life upon
The lifeless artworks
These creative dimensions
Of your being
Is astonishing
And untiring spring
Of your emotions
Drenches the mind
You are the freer
You are the omnipotent
You are the luminary of Nature
O acquirer! Your existence is
Neither slave to the unsparing veins
Of vagina
Nor is it dependent
On bridge of phallus
That is incessant journey of absolute creation
Your being is creative frolic of nature!
