Moon creeps

into the clouds,

curtain for the drama

Hilltop

solitary cloud

commits suicide

Evening cloud

and the descending sun

last embrace.

Frantic moments

for moon light

courtyard in the dawn

sky

a blue peel

don’t call me nude

Trees stood naked

front of the

morning, the painter

Wind blows,

the desert smiles

with sand flowers.

Seashore

tears waves on

Eyelids of lover

Snowy nest,

sparrows

hold the evening

Rain on the trees

with the rhythm

forget me not

Windowpane,

horizon peeps

in to her bedroom

Flower praying mantis

A flower with

wings of dreams

Night wears

sky with stars,

Headscarf.

Let it cry

an orphan star

in the lonely corner

Last pray,

Grasshopper

Under a cruel foot

The bird flew away

Leaving a vibration

On the twig

Dreams,

waiting for green,

heavy traffic.

A word

with a blade

committing suicide.

A naughty boy

splashed the ink,

Sivaprasad Palode is a Malayalam teacher in a middle school in Kerala, India. He has been writing Malayalam poems for the past 15 years. He is a published author of several Malayalam poems and articles in various print media. A book of Malayalam poems compiled from a Facebook poetry competition is soon to be released under his editorial leadership. Recently, Andreas Weiland translated three of Sivaprasad’s poems from English (by Dr. Padma Thampatty) to German. Along with leading Malayalam poets’ contributions, these poems are now published in an online German poetry journal, Street Voice and in Indian Literature Sahitya Academy.
