in honor and celebration of your birthday

I am reminded of how special you are.

Queen of my heart, how can I thank you enough

for your disarming kindness

and understanding?

We might agree to disagree on this and that issue

but by virtue of your commitment and patience

I have learned to unlearn some habits.

We are both learning to be better partners

day in day out thanks to your personality

and the beauty of your heart.

I, for one, would like to proudly and loudly

profess that you have positively changed me

in ways you cannot measure.

I thank you for the warmth in your personality,

for the undying love in your heart

and for being my life partner.
