My Last call to you…

I counted seconds as hours,

Bathed in thoughtful showers,

Thorns of reflection pinched in brain,

Tossed and turned in writhing pain.

I think:

This may be my last call to you,

This may be my last message to you.

Minutes passed long and wide days,

Dried eyes gazed my parched lips,

Deserted heart could never soften,

Sweet and honey appeared forbidden.

I feel:

This may be my last call to you,

This may be my last message to you

Hours rolled into lasting years,

Ravages of fortune dwindled fears,

Pushed me in the fire of lasting wait,

Led me to taste a fried and roasted fate.

I guess:

This may be my last call to you,

This may be my last message to you.

Evening of life reached passing slow,

Reminded the notion took as low,

My wait for you is still put on,

I’m tired, broken and hopes are gone.

I deem:

This may be my last call to you,

This may be my last message to you

The laden eye-lids ready to fall,

Pulse rate slow and going down,

The ache in my heart and the nerve down,

My wait for you is still on and on.

I know:

This may be my last call to you,

This may be my last message to you

The night of life came walking to me,

“Come with me your time is over,

She won’t come” conveyed to me,

Tears of affection rolled down my eyes,

“She’s not the part, but heart of my life.”

Dr Ranjeet Singh, based in Bareilly, U.P. India, has completed his Ph. D and cleared NET (National Eligibility Test) in June, 2012.
