Battered souls
The widowed canvas appears
White and shrivelled
Bestow the moisture of
Your revered words
I absorb your verses
As the thirsty canvas
Absorbs fresh paints
Coat me with layer after layer
Of compassion, as
Most of them shall be soaked
To quench the antiquated thirst.
Poetry and Prose arise out of
Agitated sentiments, I know
Some sharply pointing
Some bluntly destructive
For me every vocable of yours
Is a panacea that
Checks and heals all that
I suffer within
