A little passage.
"Staring is a secret language,
A little passageway,
That slips into stories, words like.
The piercing always sudden, as a blow,
And the intimacy, unnerving ,
Dissolving the iceberg into trillions of
vast blue.
Today, the lane tastes monsoon flavoured,
dewy.
A stealthy look halts at the neighbouring
room,
In the poet's eye a small match box,
Inside this rainbow collage,
The boy perhaps staring far away at the
Southern blue.
In his tapestry trades a future musician,
Lenon glassed with his striking notes of
do-re-mi.
Swift below and look to the octogenarian,
The morning is content in his summer
pants,
His denouement a great fallacy,
That ends in whipping against remorse;
It was twenty five, when he slipped away
from the staircase of dreams.
And the moth flamed through."
About the author:
Sayani Mukherjee is a budding writer and a researcher,
hailing from Chandannagar, a former French colony in West Bengal. She got her
undergraduate degree in English literature from University of Calcutta. She has
done her post graduation in English literature from Banaras Hindu University,
Varanasi. Recently her creative writing has been published in the literary
magazine of her current alma mater and various international and national
magazines and journals.
