Asuri Vaishnavi

The Mirror's Favour

On the flipside of ethereal posterity

Lies a reflection of yesteryears

Obscured by the moments we met

Like an eclipsed art piece- muted, lustreless

As the clock ticks, I chant, count

Chasing you like dreams before daylight

Hitched breath, panting, running on the edge, not

Circles- Ferris wheels, yet again, heart in throat

Now let us walk, a while before we glide

Slide against the same speculum, counterpart

Alas, behold balance- winner of our race

If stand by me you cannot, divided

Take the front-side, face me, united

And if they ask who's the fairest of all

Let us stare through the glass and call it

The mirror's favour, spectator's service.
