Lost Is The Mother

Bills wide apart

In hope of food.

With pitiful shrieks

Rings the air

A mother when

Appears near.

Lost is it’s mother,

Unknown, remains

The mother

From the moment

Of it’s existence.

It grows up

Seeing a mother,

Who disowns

The baby that

Lies in it’s dwelling.

Craving for love,

Craving for food,

The baby cries,

Only to be refused

Of mother’s love.

Unaware of the cause,

The baby tries

To get closer and closer.

Only to find it’s mother

Move away further.

It pains to see

The deprivation,

The abandonment;

The inevitable

Created by Nature.

O Mother Nature,

What was it’s fault?

What caused you

To be so very harsh

On the tender soul?

You, a mother,

The Creator of Creations,

Cradling all with care.

Made an exception

Forever to follow

For the forlorn Cuckoo.
